Watching – An Interactive Art Installation

Watching – An Intangible Medium Interactive Art Installation

The final Interactive Art Installation is complete. Created a 30 second video showcasing the art installation’s function. The initial concept was to have the art installation “watching” or viewing the viewer creating a cybernetic link between the participant and the art piece. Once I began interacting with the piece I found an unexpected element. The projector’s interaction with the camera creates a aura effect that adds a completely new dimension to the piece. What started out as a piece examining the idea of being “watched” with the undertone of being surveilled has become a piece that dances and shifts to the spectrum of light. The entire process was a great learning experience. I plan to further experiment with additional sensors and build upon this art installations foundation. The idea of incorporating a machine learning element to the piece is also something I’m beginning to research.

Thanks for viewing.
